September will be rockin around here, and Cardinal Pizza is going to be in the middle of the end of summer fun action.
First, Westerville has introduced us to DORA. Not the cute little Latina that world-hops, but a zone called Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area. Meaning in our neighborhood you can carry a drink. And by “refreshment,” they mean anything, like perhaps one of our awesome brews or our craft cocktails! And in the next couple of weeks we have some end of summer fun options for grown ups, little ones and even our canine friends. This is a great time to invite friends to Wonderful Westerville.
The weekend of September 15 – 16 features the Otterbein Homecoming. This is not just for alumni, but for all of us. On Friday, “OtterFest” kicks off with the retro rock band The Wombats and a food truck spree: Greek, BBQ, tacos, a biergarten and more.
On Saturday the campus will feature “the Cardy Zone,” full of treats and attractions for kids and adults – inflatables, face painting, jugglers, music and crafts. There’ll be coffee and donuts as well. Then the parade begins, stop in our place to grab a drink and a snack on your way to the parade.
For a little more end of summer fun excitement, the Otterbein ladies soccer team will take on Case Western, and then that afternoon the men’s football team battles Wilmington College. The sporting events, along with all other events, are totally free to the public.
Now, a week earlier, on September 9 the Highlands Park Aquatic Center is puppifying. They are opening up the pool to all the local doggies. For $5 a dog, your pooch can swim with other pooches. Little dogs can go in at 11:00, and then all dogs can dive in from 12:00 to 2:00. Remember the pets have to have a license and immunization.
